Veterinary Cardiology Services are provided by appointment on as needed basis by referral only. Windcrest Animal Hospital is pleased to offer cardiology services provided by Dr. Lorraine A. DeJager, who has a master’s degree in canine Heart disease and who has successfully completed a cardiology residency from the Veterinary School and Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. DeJager has actively practiced cardiology for twenty years. Has a PA, DE, NJ, and CA licensure, and is a member of the American Heartworm Society, and AVMA.
Our board certified cardiologist Lorraine deJager can diagnose and treat your pet’s heart-related issues competently and with care. She offers the following services:
Cardiology Services
- Cardiology consultation and examination
- Consultation about exam
- Radiology, blood pressure measurement
- Electrocardiography using 2D, M-mode and Doppler
- Thoracocentesis, Abdomincentisis, and Pericardiocentesis
- Heartworm test and pro-BNP test for cats and dogs as needed
- Evaluation of breeders puppy litters and adults for screening congenital heart disease
- Blood Pressure Measurements
- Post exam discussion with owner providing medication, support, advice, and recommendations on follow up.
- Group talks on cardiovascular topics
- Echocardiograph demonstrations and news letters sent to referral practitioner.
- Competent registered technicians assist with all exams
